CUSTOMERS of a Burnley shopping centre have raised more than £500 for charity buying raffle tickets.

Shoppers in Charter Walk bought a total of 555 tickets for Pendleside Hospice’s annual car raffle.

As a result they have raised a total of £568 for Pendleside Hospice, based in Colne Road, Reedley.

The car up for grabs is a Citroen C1 Splash and each pound spent on raffle tickets goes directly towards patient care.

This has been possible by sponsors Alderson and Horan Funeral Services, John Macadam Garages, Burnley and Pendle Masons and SFN Solicitors. The car has been supplied at a discount by local suppliers Walker Farrimond.

The money raised will help the hospice care for people suffering from cancer and other life limiting illnesses.

Current annual running costs exceed £2.85million, of which, more than £2million has to be raised from fundraising and donations.

The winner will be drawn at Charter Walk Shopping Centre on Saturday September 26.
