NEW mothers and local children will benefit from more than £1,000 from Lancashire County Council.
Three new grants have been approved to support original and useful projects, following a meeting of Lancashire Local Pendle.
The first grant will provide £250 funding to MILK!, an organisation which supports a directory of breast feeding friendly restaurants and shops.
The second grant sees £1,000 given to Pendle Leisure Trust, to purchase a pool inflatable at West Craven Sports centre - enabling the centre to extend its programme of activities. Both of the grants above were given by County Councillor David Whipp, who represents West Craven.
The third grant was allocated to Laneshaw Bridge Youth Club, by County Councillor Mike Calvert, Pendle East, to buy high visibility tops for children to wear during summer outdoor activities.
The club will receive £150 and hopes to improve outdoor activities and safety for children.
