LONG-serving councillor Roy Lees has donned the chains of office as the new Mayor of Chorley.
Roy has spent a total of 16 years on the council, and represents Chorley South West Ward.
His mayoress is his wife Margaret, who is no stranger to the town hall herself as she served as a councillor, retiring six years ago.
They got together in 1968, married in 1970, and have two daughters, a son, and three grandchildren.
During their year in office, Roy and Margaret will raise money for their chosen charities – Home-Start Central Lancashire, Help the Homeless Chorley, and St Catherine’s Hospice.
