A DEFIBRILLATOR scheme is set to be unveiled in Clitheroe town centre more than a year after it was first announced.
Clitheroe Town Council purchased the red phone box in Market Street last Spring with the aim of refurbishing it and installing a defibrillator for the community to use.
Work costing around 4,000 has now been completed.
Clitheroe Town Mayor Councillor Valerie Cooper will officially open the scheme on Tuesday, June 3, at 10am.
Mark Evans, North West Ambulance Service community resuscitation manager and Simon Doyle CFR area coordinator will also be present, along with Keith Chamley who repaired the box.
British Telecom has worked with The Community Heartbeat Trust to help communities turn adopted red telephone boxes into local medical centres.
