A POSTBOX which was recently removed from Higherford is to be replaced.
Royal Mail confirmed it would replace the postbox, in Gisburn Road, after pressure from Barrowford councillor Tony Beckett and Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson.
The old box went been missing after BT removed the telegraph pole it was attached to and failed to notify residents.
Royal Mail said that a replacement was on the way and that it was now looking for a new site nearby.
Mr Stephenson said: “Local residents got in touch worried about the missing box and to complain about the inconvenience. I welcome the swift response from the Royal Mail who have committed to sorting the problem out.”
Until the new box arrives, the nearest alternative is in Stone Edge Road, Higherford.
