A MOTORIST was taken to hospital following a crash in Rawtenstall.
The accident happened at the roundabout, in New Hall Hey, when a Honda hit a lamppost shortly after midnight yesterday.
The fire service was called as it had been thought the car was on fire. But when firefighters arrived, it was discovered steam was coming the radiator.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Somebody went to hospital in an ambulance.
“The airbags in the car had been deployed.”
It is not thought the motorist suffered serious injuries.
