With temperatures dropping and Christmas on the horizon, shoppers are turning to thermal clothing to stay warm without piling on bulky layers.

M&S is hoping to meet that demand with its Heatgen thermal collection, which includes everything from lightweight long-sleeved tops to fleece leggings designed for colder days.

The retailer also expects to sell more than 10 thermal tops every minute online in December alone.

Interest is already rising, with Google searches for thermal tops up 130% in the last seven days, while searches for M&S thermal leggings have jumped 190%, according to the retailer.
