The popular retailer ASOS appears to have been 'hacked', with many customers taking to social media to report an unusual notification they'd been sent from the app.

Customers have been sent a notification entitled 'ASOS HACKED', with the message: "Dear Asos DPO and IT, we have fully compromised with the Snowflake instance.

"Engage with us, or we will leak it."

Many ASOS customers have taken to X to share their confusion over the strange notification. One person said: "Anyone else get the ASOS hacked notification?

"Any ideas?"

Someone else wrote: "Has ASOS been hacked...this push notification is crazy."

Another user posted: "ASOS got hacked? I got a weird notification."

Meanwhile, some shoppers questioned whether the notification was in fact a marketing strategy.

Someone posted: "Has asos actually been hacked or is it just an ad for Christmas.

Another customer added: "Not ASOS getting hacked on a Tuesday morning.

"Or is this a marketing strategy."

ASOS has not yet commented on the message.
