TV presenter Alison Hammond left the set of This Morning during a live broadcast after feeling "unwell".

Hammond, 51, was co-hosting the ITV daytime show with Dermot O’Leary on Friday when she was forced to leave the studio.

She became visibly unwell following a segment about pets, clutching her chest before leaving the set while breathing heavily.

She was then quickly guided away from the camera, and a loud retch was heard off-screen.

O’Leary addressed her absence when the programme returned after an advert break.

Dermot O’Leary said: "Welcome back to This Morning. Alison is feeling a little unwell, so she’s just had to duck out.

"Hopefully she’ll be back."

Later in the show, he confirmed she would not be returning.

He said: "Ali’s feeling a little unwell so I’ll be here for the rest of the show."

Hammond’s representatives and ITV have been contacted for comment.

The presenter first found fame in 2002 as a contestant on Channel 4’s Big Brother.

She joined This Morning the following year and became a regular co-host in 2021.

Hammond is known for her lively interviews and memorable TV moments, including playing Connect 4 with Beyoncé during an interview.
