Who was star baker for biscuit week on Bake Off 2026?

Tom, from West Yorkshire, impressed judges during biscuit week to claim the star baker title in only the second episode of the 2026 series.

In the first challenge, contestants were asked to make 30 identical American-style cookies.

Mr Hollywood described Tom’s almond praline, salted peanuts, and chocolate creations as "bang on target".

Tom also topped the technical challenge by producing the best iced gems of the week.

His showstopper entry—a biscuit mosaic inspired by the Burn Book from the film Mean Girls—proved more challenging.

Although he managed to assemble more than 70 individually baked raspberry biscuits, he ran out of time to finish the design.

Tom said in the final minutes: "It’s going to look rubbish.

"I think they are going to be disappointed in the way that it looks.

"It just feels so humiliating that I couldn’t do it."

Mr Hollywood asked whether he had "dropped" the biscuit, but he received positive comments on the flavours, with Ms Lawson saying she "adored" the taste.

Despite calling the final product a "mess," the judges took Tom’s consistent performance across all challenges into account and named him Star Baker.

The next episode of The Great British Bake Off will air on Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
