Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally meet in a long-awaited heavyweight showdown.

The two British boxing stars will face off at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on December 11 in what is being billed as one of the biggest fights in the history of the sport.

Vice president of sports at Netflix, Gabe Spitzer, said: "Fury vs Joshua is a fight years in the making between two of boxing’s biggest stars.

"It has the rivalry, the stakes and the scale to capture the attention of sports fans around the world."

The bout will be streamed live and globally on Netflix at no additional cost to subscribers.

The fight was officially announced by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and president of the Saudi Boxing Federation.

He said: "Two of the best heavyweights of this generation, finally in the ring together.

"This will be one of the biggest fights in boxing history."

When were Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury’s last fights?

Both Joshua (30-4, 27 KOs) and Fury (36-2-1, 25 KOs) last competed in July.

Fury, 37, beat 46-year-old Mariusz Wach in seven rounds in Pattaya, Thailand.

The fight took place in front of about 1,500 spectators and was not shown on television.

Joshua, 36, defeated Albanian fighter Kristian Prenga in the second round in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Joshua recovered from two first-round knockdowns, the first of which came after only 20 seconds.

It was his first bout since he survived a car crash in Nigeria, which killed his close friends Sina Ghami and Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele.
