Fashion retailer Quiz is to go into administration, closing its online store and starting a stock clearance sale across physical outlets. The company has put 109 job roles at risk at its Glasgow head office and Lanarkshire warehouse.
A message on Quiz’s website states: “QUIZ is currently offline. Our stores will remain open for a period of time. We are grateful to everyone that has supported us over the years.”
Customers should note that returns won’t be refunded, exchanges are only for faulty items, and all gift cards are now invalid.
A message on the Quiz Clothing website says: "A stock clearance sale will commence immediately across all stores. Customers may wish to make purchases whilst stocks are available.
"All goods purchased on or after 5th February 2026 will be "sold as seen" and returns can only be accepted on the grounds that the goods are faulty.
"Any customers seeking to return items purchased prior to 5th February 2026 are advised to go to their nearest store where a replacement or substitute item(s) equal to or less than the value of the original purchase can be provided."
Alistair McAlinden, head of Interpath in Scotland and joint administrator, said: “With Quiz the latest retailer to fall into administration, there’s no doubt it’s been a tough start to 2026 for the UK high street.
“It’s our intention to continue to trade all stores and the concessions in Ireland as a going concern for as long as we can while we assess options for the business.”
Geoff Jacobs, fellow joint administrator and managing director at Interpath, added: “Any parties with an interest in acquiring the stock, store operations and infrastructure of Quiz should contact us as a matter of urgency.
“We are ensuring that those employees impacted by redundancy are provided with all available support at this difficult time.”

What to do if you bought products or gift cards from Quiz before the store went into administration
If you placed an order with Quiz before it entered administration, there are steps you can take to protect your money:
1. Check your payment method
Credit cards: If your purchase cost more than £100, you may be able to claim a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, which makes your credit card provider jointly liable if goods aren’t delivered.
Debit cards or other payment methods: You may be able to use chargeback schemes through your bank, though coverage isn’t guaranteed.
2. Gift cards
Unfortunately, Quiz has confirmed that all gift cards are now invalid, so these cannot be redeemed.
3. Returns and exchanges
Items bought from the day Quiz went offline can only be exchanged if faulty, and refunds are no longer available.
4. Keep records
Save receipts, order confirmations, and any correspondence with Quiz or your bank/credit card provider. This documentation will support any refund or chargeback claims.
5. Monitor news updates
Administrators may provide updates about store closures, remaining stock sales, or potential buyouts, which could affect your ability to return or collect items.
