If you thought a giant hot cross bun might be too big for a late-night snack, how about using it instead of toast for the ultimate Easter fry-up?

That’s exactly what TikTok foodie Jack Cooks has done with Aldi’s seven-inch hot cross bun, showing his 127.4K followers how he created the breakfast stack.

The supermarket launched the oversized Easter speciality last year which proved so popular, it’s back for 2023 along with a new ‘Specially Selected Giant Chocolate Orange Hot Cross Bun’.

In the viral video, Jack Cooks begins toasting his ‘massive big bun in a massive big pan’ before piling sausage patties, crispy bacon, black pudding, beans and sunny-side-up fried eggs – weighing a whopping 600g.

The breakfast serving creates the ideal combination of a sweet and salty Easter feast which you might have guessed, proves quite the task to eat.

What do Aldi’s two giant hot cross buns look like?

The new supersized 'Specially Selected Giant Chocolate Orange Hot Cross Bun’ (£3.99, 550g) is packed with chocolate chips and candied orange peel, making the perfect shareable Easter treat.

It will be joining Aldi’s original ‘Giant Hot Cross Bun’, which comes filled with dried raisins, candied orange peel and candied lemon peel.

The supermarket first launched the oversized Easter addition last year which caused a social media storm when Samantha Ramsdell, aka Woman with the World’s Biggest Mouth tried and failed to eat the whole bun in one.
