I HAVE just had some visitors staying with me from the USA and Norfolk. This is what they thought of Blackburn.

An horrific road system through the centre. After having a meal in the centre, we decided to walk our meal off by walking home.

We walked up Whalley Range because my visitors were interested in the brightly coloured and beaded clothes the Asian ladies were wearing. They thought they looked very nice.

As we walked along Whalley Range we looked in the material shops, sweet shop, and at the fruit and veg on sale, also at the Asian jewellery shops.

They were very interested - then the big let down.

We came across a lot of rubbish, some on spare land and some down the sides of buildings.

It was clear it had been there a long time.

My visitors said it looked awful.

Also they commented on the number of youths speeding down Whalley Range.

It was frightening.

If the council wants to make the Range an Asian centre, which will attract visitors, then it needs to address these issues.
