WOULD Councillor Andy Kay or any of his cronies explain what is going on in Darwen? It is absolute chaos.

Crossing the main road is like going through a maze.

On the road from the health centre you take your life in your hands, three-way traffic including buses and large wagons is not a good idea.

Cars park in the new bus stops in front of Boots so buses can't get in and traffic backs up.

No thought has been given to disabled people. How they are managing to get to the post office, the health centre or any bus stop is beyond me.

The original bus station has been blocked off and it is rumoured it is going to be made into gardens with benches. It took years to get rid of the people who lived to sit round this area drinking.

When is there going to be a meeting for the people of Darwen to find out the next steps of the regeneration? Or do we not get to find out until it is too late like the health centre fiasco?

When are you going to come clean about the leisure centre and truthfully state if everything is going to be in one place including the sauna and sports facilities?

The ratepaying residents of Darwen would like to be told if we are going to have decent shops, proper toilets and a bus station under cover and not on a hill.

We do not want to be known as a suburb of Blackburn, we deserve our own facilities.

The new signs on Watery Lane and the A666 junction which read Blackburn and Town centre do not bode well.

Has it ever occurred to Andy Kay that a stranger to the area would not realise that they had reached Darwen?

MRS I THORNLEY, Darwen.
