TO the lady in the L reg blue Mini Metro I was following along a major road in Darwen recently: Please refrain from reinforcing the archetypal image of a female driver.
If you feel the overhwelming need to persistently check your hair please pull over to the side and do so safely.
The rear view mirror of a motor vehicle is designed so you are aware of traffic (in this case an increasingly annoyed female driver) behind you, not for the rearranging of your hair.
Secondly, it is not acceptable to drive along a major road at between 10 to 15 miles an hour whilst you fiddle with your hairstyle.
Remember, the Highway Code advises consideration for other road users, a fact you were obviously unaware of but more likely a fact you just didn't care about!
If a child had run out on the road in front of you, would you have noticed? Could you have reacted quickly enough to stop in time?
LINDA PRESTON, Sunnyhurst Lane, Darwen.
