MANY people are gunning for the Prime Minister, even close members of the Labour Party.
How different to the clamour caused when he was first elected to office.
With changing world situations, terrorism being to the fore, he has been in a dicey position.
Would any other candidate have done better? I doubt it.
Tony Blair has faced changing situations and problems, especially terrorism which has now become a threat worldwide.
Look at the alternatives, say David Cameron for instance - an inexperienced candidate, who as most politicians do, spins a winning line until they arrive at No 10.
Perhaps the biggest tragedy and sour taste comes from the backstabbers in his own ranks, those who support him when their seats are safe, but at the first sign of a wobble, quickly try to oust their leader, in what they hope will let them cling onto their lucrative jobs, and their seats in the House.
