I have nothing to do with travellers but I do not see why they are victimised so much.

They are normal human beings who, in most cases, are just trying to raise their families like the rest of us.

Just because they do not live in houses, they are constantly being moved on with great disruption to the children.

We all accept that we are prepared to live in areas with anti-social behaviour and accept that people living in the same street have ASBOs and electronic tags.

But somehow that’s OK because they live in a house.

If the people of East Lancashire would give these poor families a chance, you will see they are good people.

I live very close to the Ewood travellers and think they are good, hard-working people.

The children are home-taught because most of the time they would be harassed out of mainstream school.

So take a look at the family living next door and then take a look at a traveller. There is no difference.

Give them a chance, people.
