We owe debt in many ways. It takes many forms and is something that is never fulfilled. For many it may even continue beyond the grave. So what is debt?
The financial debt of the modern world is just a stash of figures that multi-plies upon other figures and where figures are transferred and borrowed from somewhere else.
True debt should be the thankfulness we owe for our daily bread and the water that we take for granted. It is the sense of appreciation, love and understanding we show each other and the divine gratitude we owe for health, well-being and existence.
It is the respect and justice we owe to people, creatures and the planet. It is also honesty, forgiveness and much more besides.
When we fail on our debts we lose order. As is said, history will repeat itself.
