I address my letter to Andy Cooke, Assistant Chief Constable of Lancashire, and his comments about no new powers for PCSOs.
If this is the situation, then get rid of all local PCSOs because according to Mr Cooke PCSOs are only allowed to give on-the-spot fines to fly-tippers and people who let their dogs foul.
Maybe the council should do a policeman’s duty.
PAUL SMITH, Burnley.
