UK intervention to remove Colonel Gaddafi from Libya is to be commended.

As a leader, he has suppressed his people for far too long.

It is only with Western support can the Libyan people remove him.

In Ivory Coast, the leader, Laurent Gbagbo, refuses to listen to the will of the people and leave his post.

According to UN estimates, 500,000 refugees are fleeing violence. Only last week, at least 25 people died in bombing of an Abidjan market.

The conflict in Ivory Coast started before Libya. And let’s not forget the other despot that needs removing in Zimbabwe.

Maybe I’m being cynical here, but does Western intervention always have to be about oil?

I suppose we need to cover our costs in these wars.
