The Soldiers Support Group of Darwen would like to pay tribute to the countless hours of hard work James Bryan Thompson devoted to the Darwen branch of the British Legion.
We wish to emphasise that, through his dedicated leadership, his fellow Legion members will continue to work for all present soldiers and veterans.
The British Legion carries out its work without the constant beat of publicity and it’s heartening to know that the legacy he has left behind includes the record sale of poppies last year in Darwen. People of the town who see the familiar sight of his colleagues selling them this year, come rain or shine, must remember his legacy and also the huge thank you we owe to the British Legion.
The Soldiers Support Group of Darwen, Carol Tapp, Publicity Officer.
