WE have just heard that Shadsworth Leisure Centre and swimming pool are to close at the end of August. At this end of Blackburn it is a lifeline to many.
Whatever happened to the centre being a help to all the people who want to keep fit and healthy? People who have heart problems have classes to get them on the road to recovery. What are they going to do?
We try to go swimming at least twice a week again to keep healthy.
We can’t afford to pay towards private gyms and pools.
The staff at the centre are really lovely, just like a little family. Anyone who does use the facilities there should write and complain to their own councillor. Let’s hope they listen to us all and keep it open.
