In response to A Hind’s query about the lack of British Legion clubs, it is obvious he is not a Legion member himself or he would know the reason why.
People like himself, ex-servicemen who can't be bothered about their old comrades and shun the Legion don't realise that because of falling membership clubs are closing week by week.
Blackburn and Darwen both had clubs that closed years ago as members died and no one stepped forward to replace them.
If you look in the Lancashire handbook you will find places that no longer even have a branch, just a Poppy organiser.
So come on you ex-servicemen, put up or shut up. Bryan Thompson, Darwen Branch President
