RE Councillor Cottam’s comments that people should clear snow and ice from their houses – surely he doesn’t expect people from the age of 20 to 80 to do it?
I have always found him to be of a jovial disposition so with that in mind I think he was having a joke with the taxpayers of Blackburn and Darwen. As for Councillor Michael Law- Riding blaming Jack Straw and the government for their decision to take away 25 per cent of the grit, he should remember that as early as last October, the Met Office predicted the country could have a dry winter which means snow. There was plenty of notice to get their grit programme in place.
