THE Lancashire Telegraph has featured a few articles over the last couple of weeks raising awareness of the penalties for not cleaning up after your dog – more people able to issue penalties etc.
We responsible dog walkers who have always ‘scooped the poop’ welcome this as we were getting fed up of being blamed for the mess left by others.
However, I am starting to notice a lot of small plastic bags of dog poo discarded on the pavement and especially on the canal towpath.
Aside from the environmental problems, this is a potential danger to wildlife. So, to those who have adopted this lazy habit, is it really so difficult to drop the bag into the next bin you pass? You know who you are!
