PENSIONERS on day trips to the coast have stopped using the white coaches (Coachlink Express, which left Stand D on the Boulevard, Blackburn, during the summer) because they cannot now use their free passes.

This means Coachlink cannot claim back pensioners’ travel costs from the council.

If they are classed as public transport, they do.

Now lots of pensioners who have in the past enjoyed days out to the seaside with Coachlink can no longer do so.

What a pity. If anyone wants to go to the seaside, they will have to go via Preston.

I have done the trip myself to Blackpool and the road trip added three hours travelling time, whereas Coachlink took approximately 40 minutes.

There must be someone who can provide a service through the summer to the coast, even if a small charge was made.

I know Coachlink was well patronised. So I should just like to say to Coachlink, thank you very much for all the enjoyment you have given to many people over the years.
