I was interested to read Shuiab Khan’s column in which he complained about radicals and extremists. I do think, however, that he is probably the only one who has noticed a marked similarity between fanatical jihadists and the far right of the political spectrum.
Unlike the extreme Muslim radicals, our far-right has not, to the best of my knowledge, beheaded people, flown planes into office blocks and bombed London buses. Members of the far-right parties do not travel abroad to kill their fellow countrymen or gather to abuse them in the streets on their return home.
Those of us who have less extreme views can work to defeat the far-right at voting time. It would be nice if combating Muslim fanatics was as straightforward.
