I HAVE been researching my family tree but seem to have come to a full stop. Maybe someone can help?
My grandfather, James Howarth (sometimes spelled Haworth) was born in Darwen on Greenway Street in 1887 and his elder brother William was born in 1885. Their parents were Henry and Alice (nee Trainor). On December 8, 1906 William married Amelia Darby at St Cuthbert’s Church in Darwen.
My grandfather James was best man together with Jane Greenwood as the other witness. At the time of their marriage William was living on Blackburn Road and Amelia in Percival Street.
I Know nothing about William and Amelia. Her parents were William and Sarah Darby and Amelia was the eighth of at least 11 children.
