I AM writing re the Veterans Parade in Blackpool on June 27, 2008.
The majority of the veterans turned out smartly dressed in blazers and berets.
They were a credit to their regiments and corps etc and to themselves.
Alas! There was a small percentage who turned out wearing American baseball caps.
t gave the impression that they were supporting the likes of Babe Ruth and Joe de Maggio.
As an old soldier myself, I think it was an insult to their regiments, corps etc and to the lads who have served and fallen in successive fields of conflict.
