WE really do need more bobbies on the beat. Violent crime has soared by approximately twenty per cent in the last decade.
In the past year alone there have been 1.5 million violent attacks, not to mention a fourteen per cent increase in murders, twenty one per cent in rape and knife crime rose by twelve per cent.
On top of this we have robberies, harassment, vehicle theft, drug dealing etc the list is endless.
Separate figures show that only 8.7 per cent of all crimes actually lead to a charge or summons.
Cuts have gone too far we need more police patrolling our streets now and a return to ‘stop and search’.
The upcoming budget needs to free up cash to provide more policing in order to maintain law and order and keep our citizens safe.
