Electronic road signs are being delayed 'because council staff haven't been trained to climb ladders' (LT, August 6). A joke? No, deadly serious stuff.
Our councillors are now asking for reports' on how the council can resolve this issue.
A spokesperson for the Lancashire Road Safety Partnership says if the site needs a risk assessment, health and safety guidelines must be followed'.
Well what next? Council staff will not be able to use staff canteens until they have undertaken training courses in how to use a knife and fork?
Brew times will be cancelled until risk assessments are done to prevent staff scalding themselves?
Just why do we employ such idiots?
Decisions such as these are incredulous, if not laughable, and yet we condone such infantile behaviour by our decision making bureaucrats.
Just when will common sense return?
