COMMUNICATION makes community possible, caring, safer and human.
Now, after TV and cars - the great isolators - we have the blank face, dead eyes, no smile, isolating, don't speak to me, personal stereo, ear-wired zombies.
Like the burkha, it makes for an uncomfortable, selfish, dismissive, ambivalent non-relationship between humans.
Traditional northern friendliness is becoming and may become a thing of the past if we continue this retreat into introspective isolationism.
Very sad.
