THE closure of the charity shop in Lord Street, Blackburn, is a great loss to many charities.
As Carol Duggan rightly points out, many people relied on the premises to buy clothing and household items.
I visited regularly, regardless of which charity was raising funds and have noticed other permanent charity shop prices are even higher than stores selling new.
The support from the public is wonderful, with donations of unwanted goods.
The help of volunteers is also invaluable in sorting, displaying and selling the goods in the shop.
I do hope Blackburn with Darwen Council considers reopening the Lord Street shop.
