I READ with interest some time ago, in Jack Straw's weekly Lancashire Telegraph column that he respected politicians who were able to admit that they had made mistakes and admired ministers who were prepared to say sorry for making wrong decisions.
He would, therefore, have been particularly pleased with Brown's admission he had "got it wrong" with the Iran hostages media cash controversy.
Following on, it is now Jack's chance to say sorry for taking the country to war with Iraq.
As the carnage in Baghdad reaches new horrors I would think that most of Blackburn, the UK and probably the rest of the world would equally respect and admire the admission that you also "got it wrong." The apology is long overdue.
