RE: Woman, 80, caught trying to drive in the wrong direction on M65.
Well I am surprised at the police and their actions! There are quite a lot of elderly people who believe they can drive ok. But the relatives of these people can’t do anything to stop them.
Once these silly mistakes begin, that’s it, lose your licence, because you are not going to drive any better with time. My elderly aunt was about 85 — it was scary and she couldn’t see properly but that didn’t stop her. We had to disable her car eventually.
I think it was a good enough reason for the police to stop her from driving for ever. I am sure her relatives are disappointed that she is still on the road.
