RE the letter (LT, February 19) about the election of Julie Slater.
I live in the East Rural area of Darwen, and Julie Slater is the person the majority of people wanted.
She has worked non-stop addressing issues in the ward.
In a short space of time she has worked to get litter bins and a painted zebra crossing in the ward.
She is working exceptionally hard with the people in the ward to achieve their goals and address issues in the ward.
A good example of what she has done: On behalf of the Eccleshill Parish Council, she personally made up fruit baskets at Christmas and delivered them to the elderly residents who live in the Eccleshill Parish.
Now would any of the other nominees have done that? I very much doubt it.
