RE: LETTERS, Not enough hospital beds (LT, January 20). ME Bysh from Darwen writes Royal Blackburn Hospital was built by a private finance initiative costing £113 million. It will be repaid over 30 years and will cost near £800 million. Thanks to the Labour government.
Just imagine, had the Labour government lent the health authority the money at a more reasonable rate, perhaps there would have been more money to staff and fund more beds.
