K Keppie is mistaken (LT Letters, February 8). There are no plans to build new houses on Bailey’s Field, Darwen.
Bailey’s Field has been allocated as housing land for donkey’s years but no developer has ever built there because of the enormous amount of money that would be needed for the complex groundworks, filling in of old mine shafts etc.
A simple phone call to any of the three councillors for Sudell ward can confirm this.
