RE ‘East Lancashire pupils starting primary school are not toilet trained’ (LT, February 5) – it’s a reflection of a significant group of parents within the population of NE Lancashire and many other old industrial towns who are from socially deprived and ill-equipped backgrounds.
The answer is simple: don’t allow the child into a school until he or she is toilet-trained.
