I MUST say a heartfelt thanks to Harry and his wife Dianne, and also the train conductor of the 11.10 train from Colne to Blackpool on November 1 - for their warmth, kindness and help.

After having a nasal operation four weeks prior, something triggered a major nosebleed.

Frightened, as blood poured out of my nose, I was refused help by staff at Burnley Central train station and ignored by fellow travellers - although one gentleman protested on my behalf at the staff's lack of help.

Not knowing what to do, I jumped on the train in hope of getting to a toilet which was out of order.

Crying and bleeding into a bin (I didn't know what else to do), it was only Harry who intervened, informing the train conductor and administering first aid.

Between himself, his wife, who met the train at the next stop and the conductor who arranged also for medical help to meet us at the next stop, I was soon sorted out.

I am ever grateful for the help and their actions have restored my faith in human nature. Thank you.
