YOUR story (LT, November 30) about 50 pigeons being burned alive in an arson attack in Padiham is another chapter in cruelty to animals.
I have said before that these people, or so-called people, will stop at nothing to inflict this type of treatment on any animal, or persons also.
There is only one answer to this, that being to give them the same treatment as they dish out.
It is a pity that hanging, flogging etc was abolished as this would have been an excellent deterrent for such sub-human beings.
The government says it will be tough on crime, but how long have we to wait for it to happen?
Get a grip and come into the real world.
Austin R James, Brierfield.
