A ROSSENDALE man died on a railway line in Lancaster yesterday after he was hit by a high-speed train.
British Transport Police have not yet named the man but believe he is a 46-year-old from Bacup.
Police and paramedics were called to the line close to Barley Cop Lane.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by the train at 9.20am.
A BTP spokesman said: “BTP and Lancashire Constabulary officers attended the incident, which was reported to police at 9.20am and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
"Paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service also attended the incident, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The train involved was the 6.30am Glasgow to London Euston service.
