EAST Lancashire had a ‘poor’ June for nice weather according to the Lancashire Telegraph’s expert weather man.
Roy Chetham’s Huncoat whether station recorded a mixed month featuring a variety of different conditions.
He said last month featured a total of 17 days nice weather, which he said was ‘poor’ for June.
Last month also featured the windiest June for some time.
Mr Chetham said: “It was the highest average wind speed in June for quite a few years.
“Despite some hot days and some cool ones and a mini drought mid-month it came out very average for a British June.”
Rain was also recorded to have fallen in 22 days last month, leaving just eight fully dry days.
Looking ahead to the rest of July he also predicted the mixed conditions look set to continue.
He said: “Temperatures are expected to be a bit above normal but with changeable weather.
“There could be a dry spell mid to late month.”
