A MAN is alleged to have asked a teenager to get into his car before driving off when she refused.
Police are now warning residents to be extra vigilant after the "suspicious" incident in Edgworth.
It happened just before 4pm on Wednesday as the 17-year-old girl was on her way home from work in Bolton Road.
When the girl refused to get in the driver made off in a small red car.
DC Richard Bailie said: "This incident was clearly frightening for the young lady. I advise members of the public, particularly young females to be extra vigilant and report anything suspicious to the police."
