A CAFE and Wine bar set to open next month will be taking part in Darwen Food Festival.

Artisan Cafe and Wine Bar will be at the event on Saturday to give festival goers a taste of what's to come ahead of their official opening in November.

The cafe will be working out of a bar located in the beer tent where they will be serving draught beer, Prosecco on tap and a wide range of spirits and cocktails.

Owner and lifelong Darwen resident Jason Rothwell said:

"We are really looking forward to working the festival and meeting some of our customers.

"Both the managers will be working with me and we will be offering a great selection of drinks.

"We will also have a special offer on Villeroy and Boch glasses which will be available from the bar."

The food festival will take place on Saturday from 11am until 9pm on the site of the now demolished three-day market.

A plethora of stalls will be providing food and snacks and two marquees will host local bars and live music whilst providing shelter from the elements.

The Artisan Cafe and Wine Bar, is set to open in Bridge Street in the former Buxton Bakery building.

The all day cafe and wine bar will offer a breakfast and lunch menu with freshly roasted coffees, cask ales, wines and beers.
