DARWEN MP Jake Berry has welcomed the news that superfast fibre broadband will be rolled out across the Turton area in the coming weeks.

It has been announced that 107,891 homes across Lancashire now have access to superfast broadband, with the first cabinets in Turton going live and accepting orders this spring.

Mr Berry said: “The Government is providing more than £450million to help ensure that as many people as possible have access to superfast broadband and I have been working hard to make sure that Rossendale and Darwen gets its fair share of this investment.

“The aim of this investment is to help create jobs in rural areas like ours and ensure that 95 per cent of UK homes and businesses have access to superfast broadband by 2017. “It is good news. Superfast broadband will benefit everyone.”

, whether they need it for work, to do homework or download music and films.

“At the same time, it allows our businesses here in Darwen to compete effectively, helping them to invest, expand and create more jobs so that more people in every part of the UK can get on and feel more financially secure.”
