RUSH hour traffic in Chorley came to a standstill yesterday morning after a major road collapsed.
The A6 near the Hartwood roundabout, close to junction eight of the M61, was partially closed northbound as engineers assessed the damage.
The road towards the motorway was reduced to a single lane.
