ASTLEY Hall reopens to the public for the new season on Saturday after its short annual hibernation.

The ‘jewel in Chorley’s crown’ throws open its history-laden doors for the first time in 2019 ahead of a summer full of exhibitions and events.

First up, for all of April and May, the hall’s art gallery will feature a thought-provoking exhibition in response to the collection and surroundings of Astley Hall.

The 400+ years of history associated with the Astley Hall exhibition is free for everyone to explore.

The Silver School of Arms also returns this Sunday from midday for the first of three demonstrations over the coming months.
