THE daughter of an East Lancashire MP was found hanged at her home, an inquest heard.
Natalie Lewis-Hoyle, 28, daughter of Chorley MP Lindsay Hoyle, died at her home in Heybridge, Essex, on Friday, December 15.
An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned in Chelmsford.
Essex coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray said Miss Lewis-Hoyle was found hanging in her bedroom by her mother, Miriam Lewis.
She said a post mortem examination gave the medical cause of death as compression of the neck consistent with hanging.
Mr Hoyle, 60, who was elected as the MP for Chorley in 1997, took to social media to thank everyone for the support he has received.
Within a post on Facebook, Mr Hoyle, the deputy speaker in the House of Commons, said: "Thank you to everyone for the decency and compassion you’ve shown our family when we need it the very most.
"The condolences we have received have been an immeasurable source of strength over the last few days.
"I’m deeply touched by the amount of kindness and love shown in Chorley and Westminster."
Mrs Lewis, a councillor for Maldon District Council in Essex has urged for anyone with information about her death to contact Essex Police.
Mr Hoyle asked for the privacy of his family to be respected at this painful time.
